How to Prepare for that Standardized Test!

by | March 28, 2019

Standardized tests play a big role in public schools, and many private schools as well. As a parent, here are some things you can do to help ensure standardized test success!

1.) Be prepared. Teachers will often send home information—schedules and plans for the day(s) of testing. You should know what test they are taking, what it measures, and how the results could impact not just your child, but the school as well.

2) If your child struggles in a particular subject, or has trouble taking tests, they could benefit from some extra practice questions. Your child’s school or library may have samples to use.

3) If you believe your child may struggle with the test due to a language or learning difficulty, speak with your child’s teacher to see if your child qualifies for any accommodations.

4) Ensure a happy, healthy test day. Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep and eats a healthy breakfast. Stay calm! It will help your child stay calm.
