In a recent presentation, Stephen McCrocklin, Langsford’s Executive Director, gave an overview of several educational evaluations that are commonly used by psychologists and education professionals. This included terminology and scoring interpretation, as well as case studies. He specifically discussed the subtests that relate to reading from the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test, 3rd edition and Woodcock-Johnson Test of Achievement, 4th edition.
The presentation concluded with one of the Golden Rules of Assessment:
“The best-designed assessment with the most reliable and valid measures administered by the best-trained assessor won’t change a child’s reading trajectory . . . unless someone in the child’s life does something different.”
