4 Quick Tips for Taking That Test

A little strategy can help your child ace a multiple-choice test. Here are some tips:

1. Tell him to try reading the questions before the passage. This way, he’ll know what to focus on in the passage.
2. If she is allowed to mark on the passage, have her mark in the passage where the answers can be found. This will keep the answer clear.
3. No overthinking! Make sure he does not add details to the story that aren’t stated in the text.
4. Keep moving! If she has come to a question that is tricky, and it is ok to skip ahead to other questions, tell her to do so (as long as she remembers to come back to it later once she’s finished the other questions.)
